He is currently an assistant coach for indoor track and head coach for boys outdoor track, coaching sprints and throws both seasons. He has coached numerous state champions, including the New England record holding 4x100 relay in 2005; that squad also finished 5th at the national championships.
Coach Weber has also coached football at Bloomfield and Wethersfield.
Coach Lewis:
Lewis has been coaching indoor track at Wethersfield since 2006, assisting with the sprints, weight room, and other cross training. He is also an official at our home meets during the outdoor track season.
Coach Lewis also coaches football at Tolland.
Captain Tyler Everett:
Tyler has been an exceptional runner for our cross-country team since he first started in his sophomore year. He has made varsity every year he has competed in cross-country. Tyler also competes in indoor and outdoor track and has varsity letters and awards in those as well. Tyler's favorite course is Riverside Park in Hartford, finishing with his best time there.
When not running Tyler is a very active student athlete. He particpates in clubs such as the DECA marketing Club and was accepted into the National Honors Society for our school. Tyler's favorite hobbies include spending time with his friends, playing and following sports as well as listening to music. Tyler very much enjoys having a good time at practice but we expect him to be an extroardinary captain for not only cross-country but maybe for indoor and outdoor track as well. This picture shows our captain with a serious game face on representing the dedication he has for the team.
Captain John Preysner:
John is currently the captain of our Indoor Track team. This is his second year on the team, transfering from basketball after his sophomore year. Last season, John ran in the 4x200 relay and the Sprint Medley Relay at States, and competed in the 4x400 relay and 55M hurdles over the course of the season.
John also played for two seasons for the WHS varsity soccer team, and has been running outdoor track since his freshman year. He qualified for States in the 300M hurdles and the 4x400 last year, also running at the State Open as a member of that relay team. John also competes in the 110M and 400M hurdles during the outdoor season.
Aside from athletics, John is involved in various activities as a member of the WHS Choralaires, National Honors Society, and Spanish National Honors Society.
Captain Tommy Pytel:
Tommy Pytel has been nominated for the 2012 indoor track team captain for the Wethersfield team. He has done indoor and outdoor track for four years. Also did XC for two years. Some events Tommy does run in the indoor season are the 4x2, 300m, and 4x4. Best meet Tommy likes to run at will be at Yale because the track makes him go faster. For the outdoor season Tommy runs the 4x1, 400m, 200m, and the 4x4. His personal best track to run on will be the home track at Wethersfield. He also loves to compete at duel meets.
Besides doing track Tommy goes to the gym to stay in shape. As well as playing other sports with his friends over the weekend. Also enjoy playing the "tennis ball game" with the whole track team. On the weekends works at Office Depot.
